Happy Crowleymas

Today is known by many practicing thelemites as Crowleymas. It is the celebrated holiday of Edward Alexander “Aleister” Crowley’s birth on October 12, 1875. Many celebrate this day with ritual. Others celebrate as one would celebrate any party or holiday, with feasts, drinking, and excess.

  1. Just A. Pilgrim says

    ‘twas the night before Crowleymas,
    and all through the Abbey

    Acolytes gathered;

    some Seville Row, some shabby,

    In Thelemic passion,

    they meditate bliss,

    while clutching their copy

    of al Vel Legis.

    The circles were cast
    the pentacles drawn,

    now all await,

    the approach of the dawn
